Aussie Books for Zim was born from Alfred's desire to give back to his community. What started as a goal to collect 2,000 books for children in Zimbabwe has grown into a massive movement. With over 100,000 books shipped and nine libraries established, Alfred's mission is far from over. He envisions a future where every child in Zimbabwe, and eventually across Africa, has access to quality education through well-stocked libraries.

During our conversation, Alfred shares his deeply personal and inspiring journey—from his early days in Bulawayo, where he walked barefoot for 5 kilometers to attend school, to discovering the power of reading in a library in Masvingo.
